Project: Technical Accounting Consulting
Context:
Company needed assistance with technical accounting research and documentation of accounting positions on numerous transactions to prepare for year-end audit.
Approach & Results:
- We worked with the Chief Accounting Officer as well as the segment controllers and prepared accounting position papers on numerous issues including:
- New lease standard implementation
- Accounting for debt securities
- Foreign exchange accounting issues
- Inter-company consolidation elimination issues
- Dividend contribution and distribution between parent and subsidiaries
- IFRS and US GAAP accounting issues
- In addition to technical accounting issues we assisted with controls and process documentation associated with:
- System consolidation accounting ruleset establishment
- Develop and document critical accounting policies
- Document controls for new lease standard implementation across accounting and procurement teams
- We assisted the team with drafting disclosures for new lease standard.
