Context:
A private equity sponsor purchased a grain elevator business that had a wheat seed selection, testing, cleaning, conditioning, and storage business. The seed business required a new accounting and reporting system as the owner of the acquired company was not willing to sell their accounting and risk system to the private equity purchaser.
Approach & Results:
We worked with the acquired company to design and implement the new accounting system in a very tight time frame. The implementation was complex due to the unique processing requirements of seed. The implementation required close coordination between the software vendor and the seed business stakeholders to ensure the nuances of the seed processing requirements were accurately captured in the system and available for management accounting and reporting.
