Context:
Our client needed assistance understanding the process and relationship between subledger account reconciliations and the trial balance.
Approach & Results:
- We trained the accountant to properly reconcile subledger activities to trial balance amounts and the importance of investigating any discrepancies between the two reports.
- Adding this task to the monthly close process resulted in lower audit fees and significant efficiency was gained by the client.
